Starbucks defended customers asking baristas for elaborate, multi-flavor coffee-themed drinks after a multi-specification concoction posted by a worker went viral, saying this week customized beverages are what makes its brand special.

“Customizing beverages at Starbucks and our baristas’ expertise in helping customers find and craft the right beverage has and always will be the heart of the Starbucks Experience,” a Starbucks spokesperson told Fox News Tuesday. “There are many ways for customers to modify their favorite beverage at Starbucks and most customizations are reasonable requests from customers.”

On Saturday a Starbucks worker named Josie posted a picture of the receipt that went along with the now-viral order, which included extra whipped cream, caramel syrup drizzle, pumps of cinnamon dulce and honey, along with five bananas.

“On [today’s] episode of why I wanna quit my job,” the worker tweeted.

Other Starbucks workers shared their horror stories of highly specific drink orders.

“you’d be surprised. a lady ordered this in person with a completely straight face,” read a reply to the viral post, with a picture of an order with six pumps of chai, six pumps of honey blend and a laundry list of other ingredients.
