Heidi Klum is about to become the fourth judge on “America’s Got Talent.”
Reports yesterday said the former top model and host of “Project Runway” will be named today to join Howard Stern, Howie Mandel and singer Mel B on the panel of judges which, for the first time this year, is expanding to four.
A photo of the new “AGT” set posted by the gossip Web site TMZ shows Heidi’s name on the judge’s podium under the show’s trademark “X,” which goes on when the judges don’t like the act that is performing.
The show, which is set to debut in June, starts taping auditions in New Orleans today.
The hunt for two new judges has been a high-profile search ever since Sharon Osbourne quit the show last summer in a bitter dispute with NBC.
Osbourne claims the network rescinded a job offer to her son after it learned he had been diagnosed with MS. NBC denied it ever offered the job.
The British version of “Got Talent” has four judges and, it’s been known for some time, that Simon Cowell, who owns the show, wanted to expand to four here, as well.
