“Back To The Future” Broadway cast

Who’s filling in for Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover and Tom Wilson?

Great question.

Here’s a quick snapshot of the Broadway stars taking on the iconic roles.

Casey Likes (Marty McFly) made his Broadway debut as the lead in “Almost Famous.” It’s certainly possible you recognize him from his work in film and TV though — he portrayed young Will Ferrell in the 2009 film “Everything Must Go” and Gene Simmons in the 2023 Neil Bogart biopic “Spinning Gold.”

Roger Bart (Doc Brown) originated the role of ‘Carmen Ghia’ in Mel Brooks’ Broadway musical, The Producers, which netted him a Tony nomination. Over the years, he’s also appeared in the animated “Hercules” film voicing Hercules as well as in live action series like Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” ABC’s “Desperate Housewives.”

Liana Hunt (Lorraine McFly) first appeared on Broadway in the “Mamma Mia” musical. More recently, she acted in the premiere of “The Devil Wears Prada” at the Nederlander Theater in Chicago. Hallmark fans, you may have caught her in “Ghosts of Christmas Always.”

Hugh Coles (George McFly) might look familiar if you’re a fan of “Atlanta.” Yes, he’s Socks. However, Coles is much more than Socks. He was nominated for an Olivier Award for his work as George McFly and has also starred in the British comedy “The Festival” as well as Sharon Horgan’s sitcom “Dreamland.”

Nathaniel Hackmann (Biff) isn’t just Biff. He also appeared in “Les Miserables” as Jean Valjean and Javert on Broadway. Over the course of his acting career, the Scottsdale, AZ native appeared in “Law & Order: Organized Crime” too.
